I’m excited to share some free amigurumi models with you! In this article, I’ll guide you through creating a delightful mushroom, complete with construction patterns at the end.
Materials Needed
- Crochet Hook: 2.5 mm
- Yarn Needle
- Scissors
- Stuffing
- Key Ring
Abbreviations
- MR: Magic ring
- Sc: Single crochet
- Dec: Decrease
- Inc: Increase
- Hdc: Half double crochet
- Hdc inc: Half double crochet increase
- FLO: Front loop only
- BLO: Back loop only
Mushroom
Work in a spiral with beige yarn:
- Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
- Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
- Rnd 3: (3 sc, inc) × 3 (15)
- Rnd 4: BLO: 15 sc (15)
- Rnd 5-7: 15 sc (15)
- Rnd 8: (3 sc, dec) × 3 (12)
- Rnd 9: FLO: (1 sc, inc) × 6 (18)
- Rnd 10: 1 sc, inc, (2 sc, inc) × 5, 1 sc (24)
Switch to red yarn:
- Rnd 11: BLO: (3 hdc, hdc inc) × 6 (30)
- Rnd 12: 2 hdc, hdc inc, (4 hdc, hdc inc) × 5, 2 hdc (36)
- Rnd 13: 36 hdc (36)
- Rnd 14: 2 sc, dec, (4 sc, dec) × 5, 2 sc (30)
- Rnd 15: 30 sc (30)
- Rnd 16: (3 sc, dec) × 6 (24)
- Rnd 17: 3 sc, dec, (6 sc, dec) × 2, 3 sc (21)
- Rnd 18: (5 sc, dec) × 3 (18)
- Rnd 19: 2 sc, dec, (4 sc, dec) × 2, 2 sc (15)
- Rnd 20: (3 sc, dec) × 3 (12)
- Rnd 21: 6 dec (6)
Finish: Leave a long tail for sewing and cut the yarn. Close the piece and bring out the same thread at round 11. Pass the needle to the next stitch and bring it out at round 12. Repeat this step all around to create the mushroom cap.
Spots (Make 5)
Work in a spiral with white yarn:
- Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
- Rnd 2: (1 sc, inc) × 3 (9)
Finish with a slip stitch and cut the yarn. Sew or glue the spots around the mushroom cap.
Optional: Attach a chain at the top of the mushroom for hanging.
